Project Outcome
The Net Zero Action Accelerator turns corporate climate intentions into tangible progress, democratizing donor-backed expertise into every organization’s decision-making process. By blending customizable pathways with rigorous science and responsive design, the tool empowers users to take specific action aligned to their roles and industries. Launched in time for Climate Week 2023, the platform is now a scalable model for bridging commitment and implementation, driving lasting, measurable impact across the business world.

Visual clarity was key—we created a streamlined interface with clean layouts, EDF brand cues, and visual cues that reinforce credibility. We prioritized responsive interaction, with consistent icons, layout patterns, and load times optimal for professionals. Editorial choices, like tone, navigation labels, and content hierarchy, were refined to guide users from initiation to action without jargon or friction. The result is a tool that feels as approachable as it is authoritative.
Turning Climate Commitments Into Measurable Change
EDF+Business, the corporate engagement arm of the Environmental Defense Fund, needed to help companies move from climate pledges to real action. On a tight timeline for Climate Week 2023, they needed a digital tool that could simplify a vast library of climate resources and strategies into a user-friendly experience for sustainability experts and implementation teams.

A Tool Built for Trust, Clarity, and Real-World Use
To earn the trust of busy sustainability leaders, the Net Zero Action Accelerator needed to feel credible from the first click and make it easy to dive into action. We designed a clean, intuitive site that brings clarity to a complex issue, using thoughtful visual cues that align with the Environmental Defense Fund’s brand. Interactive helpers, responsive design, and just the right amount of content guide users through tools and resources, helping them stay focused, informed, and empowered to move their organization toward net zero.
We developed a highly flexible system of “Pathways,” each tailored to user goals, sectors, and roles within organizations (e.g., procurement, finance, sustainability). Each pathway breaks down complex challenges into a step-by-step process with scientific guidance, relevant resources, and interactive tools. Users can filter by parameters like emissions scope and industry, then save and track progress on their personal dashboard. This approach turned overwhelming climate data into a clear, user-centered journey.
